What was the last work of art you remember seeing?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 22, 2008:

Masks
I was just reading my psychology textbook, and in it was a painting by Emil Nolde called Still Life With Masks.  My subject is abnormal psychology, and the painting embodies the uniqueness in all of us, including our different states of mind, some being "abnormal."  I like to think outside the psychology box and say that whether we are considered abnormal or not, we all have a purpose here.  For some it may be to add the contrast needed, the dark to see the light.

that's cool insight!  It feels as though you have just solved the riddle of complexity… like some symphony some songs have a discordant sound as this painting does to my eyes… making it very real to spot the harmony and beauty and bringing those that are on the dark side to share more megawatts of lightness.  Thanks!
